History

The Urwerk Ur-Satellite was first launched in 2011 with the Ur-210 series. It gained instant recognition for its complicated way of timekeeping. The unusual language of the timepieces is still continued today and offers a peek into the idea behind crafting timepieces under it.

Essence

Every watch in this collection is governed by the fact that satellites have a way of governing everything affecting our lives. Similarly, the Urwerk Ur-Satellite offers an experience that lights up the timekeeping experience with the use of satellites. Currently, in the inventory of the Urwerk Ur-Satellite, there are 4 timepieces. The Ur-100, the Ur-105, Ur-106, and Ur-220. The Ur-100 is a journey into space. The concept behind the inception of Ur-100 is the timeless concoction of time, rotation, and orbit of the Earth. The Satellite display is a clear representation of Urwerk’s mechanical acumen and the dial represents the vastness of the design spectrum Urwerk posses. Inspired by a 19th-century pendulum clock, the Ur-100 carries forward the complex timekeeping abilities to this day. Whereas, the Ur-106 is a ladies' watch that redefines the feminine side of horology. This timepiece by Urwerk was awarded ‘Best Ladies Watch’ in 2016.

Ur-102 Reloaded

The idea of wandering hours is not old but it is not popular either. The reason is that it requires attention, detail, and dedication and according to Martin Frei, Founder and Chief Designer of Urwerk, “Right the very beginning, we had the deep and intimate conviction that focusing on the wandering hour is our path”. Considered the starting point into the world of Urwerk, the Reloaded is neither complex nor compounded, it is the true definition of ageless timekeeping. The hands-free dial displays the hour inside the visible dial. The lugs need attention here as they are inspired by the attachments on the Sputnik satellite. Apart from the lugs, the crown is also uniquely fitted at the 5 o’clock marker.
