The UR-CC1
The UR-CC1 is a peerless timepiece - outside of even URWER's own collection - requiring ten years of development followed by further three years perfecting the micro-engineering of its mechanics, as rare and exclusive as it is exceptionnal.
On the UR-CC1, there are two horizontal indications displayed by two cylinders: one for the (jumping) jours, the other for the (retrograde) minutes. The UR-CC1 is a timeless creation and the fruit of multiple inspirations: the talented and avant-garde watchmaker Louis Cottier (1894-1966); a reflexion on the myriad dimensions of time; and even a fond reminiscence of the linear instruments panels found on some old American cars.

The UR-CC1
URWERK presents its iconic 103 with a steel case. But not just any steel case, the 103.08 is the world's first wristwatch treated with TiAlN - Titanium Aluminum Nitride. The coating on the steel 103.08 is the hardest yet known in the world of haute horlogerie. A TiAlN coating less than 4 microns thick has the effect of multiplying the resistance of the underlying metal to scratches, shocks, oxidation and even acids. The 103.08 is lighter than its gold and platinum stable mates, yet much, much harder.
Hardness comparison's figures:
- Gold : 380Vickers
- Steel : 600 Vickers
- TiAlN coat : 3500 Vickers
- Sapphire: 4000 Vickers
