The UR-101

The yellow gold 101 was the watch that launched URWERK back in 1997. With its simple minimilistic travelling hour, reminiscent of a satellite or planet moving across the sky, the 101 embodies the URWERK philosophy: a philosophy that continues to this day. While honoured with the designation of 101, in reality the first 101 prototype was brass rather than - the too expensive- yellow gold. It was not until a number of steel 102 watches had been sold that URWERK had the funds to make their first a precious metal 101 case.
